About Me

Namaskaram! My name is Shajesh and I was born in Kerala, south India in 1969. Since 1990 I have followed a life of tantra yoga under the ancient Aananda Nath tradition.

The Sanskrit word Aananda means “bliss” and Nath literally means “lord, protector, master”. Adi (“first”) Nath refers to the first Lord and is a synonym for Lord Shiva.

This tradition is a timeless lineage of spiritual masters which was created by Adi Nath, Lord Shiva himself.

Lord Shiva teaching Parvati

Shiva first passed this sacred knowledge to his consort Parvati Shakti through Shaktipat (transmission of spiritual energy from teacher to student).

Parvati then passed this sacred knowledge to Shanmuk Aananda Nath, Ganesh Aananda and Nandi Aananda Nath. Like this, in our tradition, all spiritual guru’s names end with Aananda Nath.

Throughout this great Aananda Nath lineage, the great knowledge of Tantra Yoga has been preserved and handed down from Guru to Guru and so it came to me.

Here I am pictured with my beloved Guru who has been my spiritual master for over 35 years.

I have been teaching both Indian and international students these precious teachings since 2008, including Tantric Japa Yoga as part of Yoga Teacher Training Programmes.

Just as my Guru taught me, it is my wish to share this great knowledge and experience with all those who are willing to learn.
